This sketch is the thirty-fourth in a 365-day challenge to draw a picture a day, every day, for a year…
Day thirty-four: I know this is sorta lame, but I didn’t have a lot of time today for sketching. Plus I want to figure out how to create a robust field of prairie grasses. The kind that gets so tall in late summer that it flops over, and in the dry heat of the sun, turns from green into a blaze of bronze reds and golden yellows. Seemed like an easy task, but layering the colors and making the seemingly random strokes appear natural is tougher than I thought. I learned a couple things from this experiment, and I’m looking forward to a more planned attempt soon.
