I&#8217;ve always liked the way the natural light from the museum&#8217;s windows fell on the contours of the nude woman&#8217;s body and created her form in black and white. Or so I thought. When I tried recreating it, I realized there are many subtle shades of charcoal and gray in the picture, and that they were harder to emulate than I had time for. The whole thing became a bit of a mess. I decided to stop trying to mimic the photo and just be inspired by the form.
