The painting appeared in a presentation at the conference today. My digital drawing pad would have better captured the subtle luminosity of the sky and water, but I mostly wanted to explore the reflection of the sail in the water, and the iPhone worked fine for a quick study of that. In the original painting, the sail and its reflection create an almost abstract vertical arc in a scene that is otherwise naturalistic.
