This sketch is the one hundred and seventh in a 365-day challenge to draw a picture a day, every day, for a year…
Day one hundred and seven: Today I looked at some amazing prints by early 20th-century German Expressionist artists who were working in etching, aquatint, and drypoint. My favorite was by Emil Nolde. I’m particularly fond of the way he works the plate so there are layers upon layers of form. This drawing was inspired by that idea, and spontaneously made from my own imagination.
